Every result on these pages carries its year. Where a season or tournament is still being played, we say so and do not name a winner. Where sources disagree on a score, a date or a title count, we give each version and say who reports it.

Two things to keep in mind
NHL and international rules differ. Olympic hockey is played under IIHF rules, and the IIHF Official Rule Book 2026/27 handles overtime, standings points and fighting differently from the NHL Official Rules 2026-2027. Watching hockey sets the two side by side.
Title counts depend on who is counting. The number of U.S. men's world titles, Kitchener's Memorial Cups and Boston University's NCAA finals all vary by source. The pages give each count with its source.
